Terms & Conditions
Last updated: April 2026. Please read these terms carefully before using IrishEnergy.ie or submitting any enquiry or quote request.
Important: By submitting a quote request, contact form or any enquiry on this website, you agree that your personal data — including your name, email address, phone number and property details — may be passed to third-party solar installers and renewable energy companies for the purpose of providing you with quotes and information. Please read Section 3 carefully.
1. About This Website
IrishEnergy.ie is a lead generation and information platform operated in Ireland. Our service connects homeowners and businesses with SEAI registered renewable energy installers across Ireland.
We are not a solar installer, energy provider or financial advisor. We do not install solar panels, heat pumps or any other renewable energy systems. We act solely as an intermediary connecting consumers with third-party service providers.
2. Data Collection & How We Use It
When you use this website — particularly when you submit a quote request, contact form or any other enquiry — we collect the following categories of personal data:
- Full name
- Email address
- Phone number
- Eircode and county
- Property details (roof type, number of storeys, panel preferences)
- Energy usage information (monthly electricity bills)
- Any additional information you voluntarily provide
We use this data to:
- Match your enquiry with relevant renewable energy installers in your area
- Pass your details to those installers so they can contact you with quotes
- Send you relevant information about renewable energy grants and products
- Improve our website and services
- Comply with our legal obligations
3. Sharing Your Data With Third Parties
By submitting any form on this website you explicitly consent to your personal data being shared with third-party companies including solar installers, heat pump installers, renewable energy suppliers and related service providers. These companies may contact you by phone, email or SMS to provide quotes and information relevant to your enquiry.
Specifically, your data may be shared with:
- Solar PV installers — SEAI registered companies who will contact you to arrange a free site survey and quote
- Heat pump installers — registered contractors who may contact you regarding heat pump installation
- Renewable energy suppliers and retailers — companies offering related products and services
- Our data processing partners — companies that help us operate our platform securely
- Analytics and marketing platforms — including Google Analytics, used to improve our service
We do not sell your data to unrelated third parties for unrelated marketing purposes. Data shared with installers is shared specifically in connection with the enquiry or quote request you submitted. However, once your data is passed to a third-party installer, that company's own privacy policy governs how they use and store your information. We recommend reviewing the privacy policy of any installer who contacts you.
How many companies will receive my data?
When you submit a quote request, your details may be passed to up to 3 installers operating in your area. Each installer will contact you independently to arrange a free no-obligation quote. You are under no obligation to proceed with any of them.
4. Quote Requests & Lead Generation
IrishEnergy.ie operates as a lead generation service. When you submit a quote request, you are requesting that we connect you with installers who can help with your renewable energy needs. This is a free service to consumers — we are compensated by installers when a connection is made.
We make reasonable efforts to connect you with reputable, SEAI registered installers. However we cannot guarantee:
- The quality of work carried out by any installer we connect you with
- The accuracy of any quote provided by an installer
- That any installer will be available in your area at any given time
- That SEAI grants will be approved for your particular installation
Any contract for installation work is solely between you and the installer. IrishEnergy.ie is not a party to any such contract and accepts no liability for the quality or outcome of any installation work.
5. Marketing Communications
By submitting a quote request or contact form on this website you consent to being contacted by IrishEnergy.ie and our installer partners by email, phone and SMS in connection with your enquiry.
You may opt out of marketing communications from IrishEnergy.ie at any time by:
- Clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send you
- Emailing us at info@irishenergy.ie with the subject line "Unsubscribe"
- Contacting us using the details in Section 10
Please note that opting out of communications from IrishEnergy.ie does not automatically remove you from communications by third-party installers who have already received your data. You will need to contact those companies directly to opt out of their communications.
